Our Team

David Mayo has spent more than twenty years working in residential and commercial construction throughout Western North Carolina. His background includes experience in both building and civil engineering, which has shaped the practical, detail-oriented approach he brings to each project.

David began his career in geotechnical engineering before moving into construction management and ultimately founding Providence Construction Group in 2005. Over the years, he has worked on projects involving a wide range of site conditions, including the steep, varied terrain common in this region. That experience has made him comfortable evaluating sites, planning ahead for challenges, and helping clients understand how the land influences design and construction.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UNC Charlotte and is licensed as both a Professional Engineer and a General Contractor. David is a past president of the Hendersonville Home Builders Association (2010 and 2013) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce.

Clients appreciate David’s steady communication, attention to detail, and commitment to making the building process organized, transparent, and well-managed from start to finish.

Barry Jackson approaches construction with a systems-driven mindset shaped by both design training and years of hands-on experience in the field. He holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University and a General Contractor’s license.

Over the course of his career, Barry has worked across a wide range of construction roles, gaining experience in field operations, team leadership, and project coordination. In addition to his work on active job sites, he was involved in building a startup software company focused on construction estimating.

He has been with Providence Construction Group for more than a decade and currently serves as Vice President of Operations. In this role, Barry is closely involved in guiding critical decisions and coordinating details that influence how projects progress. Barry’s depth of experience gives him a broad, practical understanding of construction.

Phillip was born in Charlotte and moved to Brevard in 1992, where he graduated from Brevard High School. He attended Blue Ridge Community College for two years and has more than 30 years of experience in general construction. He joined Providence in 2022 and serves as a Superintendent.

Outside of work, Phillip does custom woodworking, from bowls and small furniture to trellises for the garden. He also enjoys gardening and time on the water with his family. He has three children, one serving in the military, one in college and one in elementary school.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Sunny has called Western North Carolina home for the past 25 years. He began his career in land surveying before transitioning into residential construction in 2020, bringing a strong technical foundation and attention to detail to every project. Sunny joined the Providence team in 2023 and serves as a Superintendent, where he oversees each stage of the building process.

Outside of work, Sunny enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and attending live music events.

Ashley’s background spans residential construction, real estate, and operations, giving her a broad perspective on the many moving parts that go into building a custom home. In her role, Ashley works across multiple areas of the business, supporting project operations while helping develop and refine the systems and processes the team relies on. She also helps turn new ideas into practical improvements as the company grows. For Ashley, one of the most rewarding parts of residential construction is watching early ideas and planning take shape as a finished home, and knowing she played a part in bringing it all together.
